Poole Party

Boy meets girl through prayer team for Campus Crusade for Christ. Daniel always wanted to sit beside Jess because "she smelled good." After being "friendly" for two years, we started dating in April 2006, married in October 2007, and had our first baby girl, Piper, in October 2010. Here's hoping more will join our party soon.

9 Months

Oops! I have lots to update on here.. Let's see. Since I was last here, Piper started crawling at almost 7.5 months. She is SO cute when she crawls! I love seeing her learn and explore. Although, sometimes when I put her down to play while I try to accomplish something, she'll just crawl to me and pull herself up on my legs. :) I love it, even though it definitely presents a challenge in getting my to-do list checked off. I am trying to remember how quickly time passes, and she'll only be this small once. So some of my petty things can just wait, or not get done at all!

Piper still has NO teeth. She's stressing me out! I know they'll be here... eventually. It just worries me.

She is obsessed with all of her giraffe toys. She loves giraffes and gets so excited when she sees them.

She stood alone last week (I have the date written on the calendar.) It shocked me. I am definitely not ready for her to be such a big girl! However, she hasn't done it again. Which I am glad about!

She gets SO excited when she sees babies and small children. I've never seen anything like it! It's SO sweet. Thus far, it seems as though she is definitely a people-person. She LOVES play dates, and just being around people in general. I really pray that she continues to love people!

Keeping it real, she threw her first temper tantrum on Wednesday. I had a piece of whole wheat bread I was feeding her (in the smallest bites imaginable). She grabbed two large pieces of it and was holding them in her hands. That was fine, until she started trying to take bites out of the large pieces. I repeatedly tried getting her to stop, and she wouldn't. So I just took it from her... which resulted in the lashing of her arms and pouting!! I couldn't believe that tantrum came so early.

It's an overwhelming responsibility to try to mold your children's heart to LOVE doing what's right, and to delight in that. I know she's only 9 months old, but I feel like the younger you start the better. Maybe?! Let me know, moms, if you have any advice. :)

She's still on the same schedule - sleeps at night from 7-7. Naps now at 9 and 1. Eats when she wakes up, noon, and between 5 and 5:30. She's in 9 months clothes - some 12 month things.

At her 9 month well-check up, she weighed 18 pounds, and was 28 inches long.

Lastly, please pray for us! The next 8 weeks are rough. Daniel is on surgery. The hours SUCK. He has to be at the hospital at 5:30 every morning, and never knows when he is going to be home. A few days, he didn't get to see Piper at all. And it stinks because he can't even call. He goes into some surgeries knowing that it can take anywhere between 1 and 6 hours. So on those days, I feel like a single mom. But I have to keep it in perspective, especially when I think about military wives (shout out to MEG!). I have to be so thankful. And "this too shall pass!" So I have just been trying to keep us busy!

Hopefully will be back with pictures soon....
