BOOTS. ON.

 If you've seen pictures of Piper EVER, it's no secret the girl loves rainboots. "BOOTS. ON." is a command I receive plenty throughout the week. We are working HARD on tagging PLEASE on the end of it! This day, Daniel took Piper on a walk after the rain, which she LOVES. And her cute boots and coat from Mammy makes it even more fun.

CALK

 Piper's second favorite thing to do? "Play outside with CALK."

It is SO fun with her this summer, especially since her speech has basically taken off overnight. A few weeks ago, we were on vacation and she would say just about any word. Recently, she's learning how to put sentences together and it makes life so much less frustrating! And a lot more fun. :)

Park play time

 One of, if not her absolute, favorite things for Piper is to play on anything outside. Thankfully, we live SO close to Barboursville Elementary school, it's barely a walk away. And we're about a 2 minute drive from Barboursville park. Our little house is almost perfectly tucked away between the two, leaving no excuse for not having some playtime outside.
Not to mention, some of Piper's best friends next door, 3 year old Owen and 5 year old Wyatt, have a pretty sweet set up in their backyard.
Even though Piper's coordination leaves something to be desired, we have a blast. I can't stray too far from her, in fear she'll break something! I'm sure it has something to do with her being my first born. I like to blame her clumsiness on Daniel's family, as his sister, Anna, is super graceful; but the queen of falling over both nothing and everything! Piper is following hard in her footsteps: beautiful, sweet, loves to dance, and incredibly clumsy!  

Match Day - March 2012

 Match Day was definitely a day that seemed SO far away when Daniel had first started medical school. Would he even continue on this path? Would he match? Would we be happy where we matched? It was a LOT of stress!
Daniel has always known he wanted to do Family Medicine, and thankfully it is not very competitive. Even if it was, I would not be worried. Daniel is the poster child for what anyone would want in their family physician! He didn't care to interview many places, but carefully chose the few he thought would be interesting. There were SO MANY schools that were enticing to me (especially as a mom!) However, while many of the schools had better perks than Marshall, you can't quench the tug God puts on your heart to do something. And for Daniel, it was knowing he wanted to stay at Marshall. Even though he has only been a resident for a few LONG weeks, I can already see why God's hand kept us here. I am so thankful my husband is one who knows the Lord's voice, and obeys what is asked of him.  
 Here's hoping the next three years aren't as bad as I picture!

March 2012

 The weather in March was super random! It snowed some, and then a few days were in the 70's! The first few pictures will give you an idea of how random it was.

 The picture above and below were in the same week. So weird. It usually doesn't get very warm in March in West Virginia. One day, I took Piper to the park and who would have thought we needed sunscreen? Her poor, bald head was burned; and now I am SO careful about it!

 Along with the crazy weather, I must have been in a purple mood. :)

 The next few pictures are from a character breakfast that was in Huntington. It would have been fun if Piper would have hugged them. I was not surprised! She did LOVE seeing them, though. It was super fun to see it through her eyes. (Bad costumes and all!)
