Poole Party

Boy meets girl through prayer team for Campus Crusade for Christ. Daniel always wanted to sit beside Jess because "she smelled good." After being "friendly" for two years, we started dating in April 2006, married in October 2007, and had our first baby girl, Piper, in October 2010. Here's hoping more will join our party soon.

a few random pictures

Christmas sweater

This was a random shoot we did with Piper one day, only because I L-O-V-E-D her outfit. It may be my favorite one, yet. With so many adorable girl clothes out there, and such little money in our bank account - I try not to buy something unless I HAVE to have it. (Unless it's a good deal or she needs something!) This sweater was something I HAD to have. From JCPenney. It just looked like Christmas to me! I can't wait til this Christmas (though I can wait for the cold weather.) Christmas with kids in the house is sooo much more fun!

Piper loves Uncle David

Piper loves Uncle David! They came in for Thanksgiving, and it made Piper oh-so-happy!

Legwarmers are good for Thanksgiving

Jerica's Costume Shower

My friend, Jerica, had a super fun costume-wedding-shower. It was the first thing I did without Piper. My BFF and her mom went as flappers and a pimp (Emily already had the costumes!) I think the only reason I went is because Jerica is such a great friend, AND the venue was less than a mile from my house! So I was only away from Pipe for an hour or so. It is so refreshing to get out with friends, no matter how much you love your children! Every mom needs to do it!

Baby's First Halloween

Piper was still in newborn clothes on Halloween. So her Halloween costume didn't fit, and looked silly. I took it back, and we settled on a "Baby's First Halloween" shirt instead. That's ok, right?
We didn't even do anything. Let's be honest, Piper wasn't a month old, I was still freaking out when she was around too many people, and so I didn't really care to take her anywhere! So we just went to my mom's. And these are the only pictures I got... Oops.

Baby Dedication Day

My home church, Antioch Missionary Baptist, has a "baby dedication day" once a year. This so happened to be when Piper was three weeks old (the day after my grandfather's funeral). So it was her first time to church! We just stayed for the dedication part, so we snapped a few pictures when we got home.

After church, we went on a walk at Barboursville Park (our favorite place to walk.) Piper was SO little!
Then, of course, Malakai came over that evening and put the moves on Piper. Even though her baby acne was in full swing! :)

Pawpaw

My sweet grandfather passed away three weeks after Piper was born. While it had been expected for quite a while, it was still an extremely sad loss for my family. I'm definitely thankful he isn't suffering anymore.
These are some pictures we took while waiting on my family to get to the reception we had after the funeral - we had one to see family from out of town. And they got to meet Piper. We didn't take pictures with them... story of my life!

Malakai and Piper's first date

I'm backtracking, as to do what I intended - document our lives! HA!
This was Malakai and Piper's first date. A walk at the Barboursville park. Malakai is exactly 6 weeks older than Piper, and they have lots of fun together!

Tuckered out after the walk. Why is it all of the pictures I have with Piper are when I'm fresh out of the shower? (READ: no make-up, and hair looking crappy?!) I guess it captures the true essence of how I looked when she was a newborn... TIRED :)
